Abstract

The phenomenon of environmental damage is already so severe. If there is no movement of awareness and joint concern for environmental preservation, it is feared that nature will be increasingly damaged and unfriendly to human life. For example, with frequent disasters and calamities, one of which is caused by natural damage that is exploited arbitrarily by humans. Moreover, Islamic teachings highly prioritize environmental preservation and condemn acts of environmental destruction that are dangerous. Also, the government through the Asta Cita program emphasizes strengthening harmonious relations with nature, the environment and culture to achieve a just and prosperous society. This is where the importance of presenting Dai as a preacher who educates and advocates the community in the environmental preservation movement and agenda. Moreover, the presence of Dai Pepeling which is an acronym for Dai Pelopor Peduli Lingkungan. Based on descriptive research with literature study techniques on the role and function of da'i towards transformative and dynamic social changes in society. It is understood that the presence of Dai Pepeling can be effective in building awareness and joint concern for environmental preservation based on the values of Islamic teachings which are a blessing for the universe. Considering the very significant and strategic role and function of preachers as agents of social change who guide society based on Islamic teachings towards an ideal life to obtain physical and spiritual happiness in this world and the hereafter.
